Defined by the Australian Concise Oxford Dictionary, an oven is an appliance found in most kitchens. It's purpose is to cook and heat food at the desired temperature and time. Over the years, due to emerging technology, the oven has greatly advanced from when it used to be a simple cooking fire. This means it has had many different inventors over time.

Thomas Ahearn was a Canadian inventor. One of his great inventions included the electric oven and stove.
The electric cooktop was invented in the year 1882, but in 1889, Ahearn was the first to use his own invention.
These weren't his only inventions though, as he went on the make an electricity company.
Thomas Ahearn died in 1938, and his inventions will continue to improve and benefit largely to society.
